Lane County now has a local option for CDL training. Elite Truck School has opened a new campus at 430 S Mill St in Creswell, just outside Eugene. The new location brings Class A CDL training to the Willamette Valley, giving residents a shorter drive and a faster path into a trucking career.
Why Elite Truck School Opened a Campus in the Eugene Area
Demand for quality CDL training in the Willamette Valley has grown alongside the demand for professional drivers. Elite Truck School brings ELDT-compliant training to the Eugene area, giving Lane County residents access to a structured, federally aligned program backed by one of Oregon’s most established truck driving schools.
Tyler Reisnaur, General Manager of Elite Truck School, said the company has always treated truck driving as a skilled trade that deserves the same level of training as any other craft. He pointed to Lane County’s strong tradition of skilled labor as one reason the new campus fits the community. Elite Truck School is a member of the Commercial Vehicle Training Association (CVTA), a group that represents top truck driver training schools across the country.
Training Model at the New Campus
The Eugene-area campus follows the same training model used at Elite Truck School’s other Oregon and Washington locations. Students work with experienced instructors from their first day in the classroom through their final day of road training. The knowledge they get from our instructors who have real-world experience helps them to build the skills and confidence to pass the CDL exam.
J.J. Reisnaur, Director of Operations, said the program was built around one goal: giving every student the best possible chance to pass their CDL exam and find work afterward. Class sizes stay small so instructors can give each student more attention. This approach has helped Elite Truck School maintain one of the highest first-time CDL pass rates in Oregon.
Class Schedules at the New Campus
The new campus offers two scheduling options:
- Daytime classes: a 4-week program
- Weekend classes: an 8-week program
This setup lets people keep working while they train for a new career. It also gives veterans and adults switching careers a realistic path to a CDL without putting their current job or income on hold.
Elite Truck School’s Background
Elite Truck School was founded in 2003 by Greg Reisnaur, a former professional driver who saw a need for better-trained truck drivers in the Portland area. He built the school to offer high-quality training that stayed affordable and convenient for students. Today, Elite Truck School is approved by WIOA and the Veterans Assistance, and it operates multiple campuses across Oregon and Washington, including this new location serving Eugene and the surrounding Lane County area.
