TUITION ASSISTANCE, GRANTS AND PAYMENT OPTIONS FOR TRUCK DRIVER TRAINING

Financial resources for getting your Class A CDL

At Elite Truck School, our mission is to help men and women begin rewarding, successful careers as professional truck drivers. Today, more people than ever are seeking new opportunities in the commercial transportation industry. Whether motivated by the desire for a more consistent paycheck, greater earning potential, excellent benefits, a new career path, a chance to travel, or the aspiration to own a business, Elite Truck School provides comprehensive Class A CDL training and support to reach your goals.

At Elite Truck School, many of our students pay for their training before they get started, and some are sponsored by their current employers.  However, we also recognize that not everyone can pay cash or use a credit card for their Class A CDL training or CDL Refresher course. That’s why we have a variety of financing and funding options that can help almost everyone get started! We have traditional financing options, State-supported CDL training grants, tuition reimbursement, and even carrier sponsorship programs.

Workforce Funding (WIOA)

We are an approved provider for Oregon Worksource, a fund program that offers CDL training resources for those who qualify. If you have been laid off or receiving unemployment or SNAP benefits, you may be eligible for a grant to pay tuition. Contact our Admissions team to point you in the right direction.

Veteran’s Administration (VA Benefits)

Elite Truck School, Portland’s only VA-approved truck driver training program, is proud to offer financial assistance options to assist active-duty service members, reservists, veterans, dependents, or spouses in receiving high-quality CDL training. We have helped hundreds of veterans begin their new careers as professional truck drivers, and we look forward to helping you and your family as well.

Traditional Financing

We have a variety of loan programs that are available regardless of credit. For many, you can get started with as little as 50% down, and affordable monthly payments that begin when your training is completed. And most over-the-road companies offer tuition reimbursement to help students recover their investment in training.

Carrier Sponsorship

Some of our partner carriers will sponsor your entire CDL training program in exchange for joining their company for a specific number of months after you graduate.

Tuition Reimbursement

One of the benefits of doing your Class A CDL training at Elite Truck School is our Carrier’s Tuition Reimbursement programs.  Trucking Companies can help pay for your CDL training through weekly and monthly bonus incentives.  This is not money taken out of your paycheck, but an additional $100-$250 each month that goes toward the balance of your CDL training loan.  Many Companies will pay up to $7000 in Tuition Reimbursement benefits as an incentive to hire you.  To learn more, speak to your Admissions Advisor or our Financial Assistance Team.

Other Funding Options

Elite Truck School works with several local and regional banks, employment agencies, and service organizations in Oregon, including Social Services, Vocational Rehabilitation, Trade Act/NAFTA, and other private and public sources. We assist all students with creating a customized financial plan that works for them and always look for free or low-cost options first. And our students always have the option to pay “out-of-pocket” via cash or credit card.
